Stanford is committed to ethical and transparent interactions with our industrial and other commercial partners. It is our policy to disclose payments (exclusive of travel support) from, and/or equity in, companies or other commercial entities to Stanford faculty of $5,000 or more in total value, as well as any equity in a privately held company, when the faculty member also has institutional responsibilities related to his or her interactions with the company. View Full Information

Scientific Focus

Current Research Interests

Our research concerns health policy, both domestic and international, clinical policy, and the development of analytic methods for evaluating policy questions. I am particularly interested in technology assessment and the application of decision theory to clinical/health policy problems. My group has a special interest in questions related to disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and cardiovascular disease. We also perform systematic reviews on a variety of topics. We also work on developing methods for producing normative, model-based practice and screening guidelines.
