    Research Interest

    I am interested in the long-term consequences of chronic interactions between the human host and the microbial world. Recently, we have focused most heavily on Helicobacter pylori, tuberculosis and helminth infections. I also remain strongly interested in diarrheal diseases, particularly in the developing world, and in sanitation and hygiene.

    Research Interest

    My research interest focuses on the epidemiology of Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, specifically evaluating the genetic and environmental contributions to these neurodegenerative disorders. I am also interested in studying the relation of cognition, estradiol exposure (endogenous and exogenous), and genetic factors.
