Research InterestCancers of the prostate, breast and ovary account for a major proportion of new cancer cases and cancer deaths in the U.S. each year. Our recent research focus has been on developing improved statistical methods for the design and conduct of studies involving hereditary predisposition and modifiable lifestyle characteristics in the etiologies of site-specific cancers.

Research InterestI study the comparative effectiveness and safety of competing clinical strategies in patients with kidney disease, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease. Such strategies may include medications, devices, clinical tests, policies, or other approaches to providing or organizing clinical care. My research is based on large insurance databases, disease registries, clinical databases or electronic medical records. My explicit career goal is to improve care and outcomes of patients with these diseases.

Research InterestHe is a health policy and outcomes researcher whose work has focused on children's health; health-outcomes disparities by race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status; the interaction of genetics and the environment as these factors influence child and maternal health; and the impact of medical technology on disparities in health outcomes.
