Current Research and Scholarly Interests My clinical and laboratory research activities are currently focused on developing new and sensitive means for detecting the onset of cerebral ischemia using both electrophysiological and advanced optical techniques.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests Research interest and approach: application of neuroimaging-informed tools to quantitatively evaluate the dynamics of the mind-body interactions by studying the supraspinal processing of interoception to 1) identify brain patterns maximally predictive of an interoceptive state, e.g., pain; and 2) delineate how anoetic consciousness emerges and evolves to more sophisticated forms of consciousness that motivate behavior or produce different feeling.
