Current Research and Scholarly Interests

My current research interest is improving MRI methods for peripheral nerve evaluation. MRI has great potential to make a much better nerve examination tool than the current standard, electromyography and nerve conduction study, which are very painful and invasive. For advanced evaluation of peripheral nerve health, I am working on 1) PET/MRI for improved nerve injury detection, 2) quantitative MRI for nerve damage grading, 3) metal artifact correction for nerve root exam in postoperative spine.
